Tumblr shift..

..so, as I saw this blog descending into Sherlock-induced ramblings and squeeing, I sort of decided to move them to somewhere they would fit in better- Tumblr
..this blog will still play host to my ramblings about life, the universe and everything (including Dr Who, thanks to Sherlock).. but the majority of Sherlock fannery will be safely contained here

So, I told you I had started watching Primeval... well, I'm almost finished Series Two....
...but I pause in my viewing to offer you these words...

Is it bad that during my science prac... the one about air and flight.. my first thought was..
...the art to flying is to throw yourself at the ground and miss...
..and I may or may not have written this in my note book...

..and this is only an indirect reference to Martin Freeman (as he was in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, by the flying thing is in one of the later books I forget which.. I read them all at once so they blended a little) so hopefully this means that my latest obsession is dying down..

... and, yes, I really do hope it does soon...

.. they don't usually drive me crazy... but this one is trying...

      

...after the horror that was only three episodes.. just enough to get you fully addicted... I was force to trawl the internets to get my Sherlock fix.. which is how I found myself in the murky world Of the BBC!Sherlock fannon... and what is the most common thing to find in such a place?

..that's right- Slash..

 

Now I've never really been a slash fan..

...but several weeks spent wallowing in fanfiction and I can now seem to do nothing to break this habit....

...it has invaded my mind..

..not helpful in boring lectures...

..at all...

What the Sherlock!?!

Ok, so I had a little tanty in my room when the last episode ended...

...how can they just stop it there and expect us to wait a year for the next one?!

(and embarrassing as it is... I actually did jump around the room shouting at my computer)

{The show really is brilliance, I just can't handle that kinda suspense}

But it did one thing....

...you know how I told you previously about my cutie-crush on Andrew Lee Pots...

...well even my recent foray into Primeval wasn't enough to revive him to top position after I rediscovered Martin Freeman....

... The man is just adorableness in a box... or a stripy jumper.. or whatever....

 

... yes.. He is considerably older than the last  British cutie ... but still he's got it covered.. I'm literally addicted...

What with being the adorable (almost teddybear levels of adorableness) short guy in the knitted jumpers, with the turned up nose and the deadly aim... *swoon time...



Dr Watson was never so huggable (sorry Jude Law) ... he limps.. he can shoot like a sniper.. was in the Army.. gets irritated at Sherlock (bravery, we all adore bravery) ... plus there the whole thing with looking like the personification of cotton candy in a jumper... yes, the jumpers swing it...

Martin Freeman is my newest favoritest actor (besides I've got a thing for guys who'll pull funny faces for photos... remind me to digress on the subject of Joe Gordon Levitt or Paul Rudd sometime)

I’m in the sun! Well... sometimes anyway.... It is certainly sunnier here than it is at home and I have even occasionally worn a single layer of clothing... I was even (briefly) in bathers!

So with the combination of having much fun things to do (like themeparks.. which, while admittedly not quite as enthralling as when I was younger, are still great fun) and the sporadic nature of my internet connection leads to this blog being neglected...

Holidays! Finaly! I've been swimming in a veritable torrent of assignments over the past couple of weeks, but now thanks to classes this trimester which don't have exams... I have 5 weeks off.. and I'm flying out tomorow to spend them on the sunny Queensland coast!

Diary of a bad eater...

Guess what I've eaten today?
That would be 2 packets of snack sized chips and 2 and 1/3rd LCMs Split Sticks...
... 1 Yogurt and 1 and 1/3rd Chocolate...
....and a fun sized Timeout bar... actually, I'm eating that now...

...yes, I know- It's terrible, but the thing is- I haven't been shopping this week.
Or last week....
 So I have had to eat what's in my room (not much, after 2 weeks placement, prior to last week), what I get from the canteen, and two dinners a week that the Res provides... I am currently hanging out for one tonight... only about an hour and a bit to go... I think I have some tortillas if I can't make it or I could cook up some pasta, like I did for breakfast the other day...
But, seriously.. If you know any quick, tasty (and nutrition wouldn't hurt me either) meals for one... please, please let me know....

Diary of a Gym Virgin...

Yesterday was my first ever visit to the gym... Yes, I got to 19 years old without ever having set foot in one. The instructor had to show me everything. I knew absoululy zero.. even the way I did push ups was wrong (although, granted, the last time I did push ups was when challenging my cousins to see who could do the most- p.s. most of my cousins are at least 5 years younger than me)
This morning before I went I decided I had better shave my knees... 'cos, you know they stuck out below my shorts... yeah, somewhat embarrassing, but oh well... am I the only person that does a thing like that? sit on the edge of the bed to give 'em a touch up? ...oookay then, moving on...
I then had to walk across the Uni Res and part of the campus to get to the Uni gym, feeling like a dork in what used to be a school sports uniform (my younger sisters school sports uniform)...
And when I got there the rather attractive gym trainer guy has to run me through a program to see what goals I'm trying to achieve... um, I wanna loose my slightly podgy tummy... I just told him I wanted to improve my strength and fitness... So he shows me everything there is, and I can barely keep up with the automatic running machine... now I'm not really that unfit... I walk fast everywhere (probably 'cos I just don't want to waste time just getting places.. is that a form of laziness?).. but my calves were starting to sting... I was counting down the minutes till he came to tell me I could finish and go on the bikes... where I wasn't really fast enough... the whole gym is way too high tech.... and after that he had to walk me through how to do a push-up, a sit-up, a lunge and a triceps press... *sigh, I didn't even get a go on the rowing machine... after one round of the strengthening exercises (10 each) I headed for home.... and ate chocolate slice...

My legs don't actually hurt to day... it's my shoulders I can't move...

Diary of a lazy emailer

Want to guess how many unread emails there are in my mailbox it the moment? The answer is 552. Mostly junk... the problem is I just keep letting them pile up, and then they get too many for me to go though. Although that figure is less than it was a while ago, when I had another attempt at a clean out. That's the thing with technology... it starts out as a convenience, or an entertainer... and before long it has become a chore....
and then of course you can always move on and find something new....
The first thing I got into was Yahoo!Answers.. though some friends at school... then that died out...then I got into Polyvore (different set of friends) ...that still hangs on as a current obsession... then there was a blog.. Facebook... Youtube.. and the never ending array of amusing sites to enjoy, the Taste of Awesome, Cakewrecks, notalwaysright, etc..... one fades out as another one lures...

Off to see the Wizard

 I'm the sort who goes through phases of obsesions. And my current obsesion is The Wizard of Oz...
Now I'm sure you've all seenn the Barbie versions of the movie characters...

So, as you may have noticed from my previous post I wasn't overly into the royal wedding... but now, afterwards welllll... I went a little set-crazy on Polyvore, and couldn't seem to stop making sets about the right royal shindig-

I didn't watch it, but I did check in on The Age's update every now and then... the dress is lovely...

Diary of a reluctant holidayer...

The reason there hasn't been a post over the last few days is that it's holidays dontcherknow? And it's an Easter tradition in my family to get together with a bit more family and go somewhere without Internet access...
...and as much I I love my family, and holidays, sometimes I think it would just be easier to stay at school. My cousins are a lot of work. They need to be fed, amused, watched in the swimming pool, fed some more, told to put a jumper on, told Not To Do That, kept away from the cars, entertained some more and then fed again...
...at school I kinda spend most of my time lying on my bed, reading or playing the computer, or doing something from the many crafty pursuits that overflow my cupboard space at uni....
...so, maybe...
No. I'd rather have the holidays...

Diary of a Fangirl

Ok, so my latest obsession is the Syfy miniseries 'Alice'... and more specifically the Hatter..
...Come on, Andrew Lee Potts is just a perfect package of adorableness...
..with the oh, so gorgeous grin, and the slightly bunny-rabbit teeth...
... maybe that's what it is... my own teeth being somewhat less than perfect, his meltable smile is even more irresistible.. he's the only guy in visible eyeliner that I've ever been attracted to...
Plus absolutely no one can resist a guy with a British accent AND dimples
Besides Hatter is so sweet and yet so, well, badass.. at the same time that a girl can't help falling completely under his spell...

But anyway, I'm getting distracted- I started talking about the show...
I watched it on Youtube...
...and then after I was finished, I needed a further fix in the form of fan videos....
...yep, I spent a couple of days watching practically every one made (ok, not every one- there are a lot out there)...
(which was also what I did when I was having a The Breakfast Club episode, but couldn't get hold of the video)
You too should watch it if you possibly can, 'cos it's fabulous!

However, I would recommend not watching the following if you have not yet seen it and plan to, and do not want anything given away (I give stuff away on myself, by looking up films on Wikipedia that I want to see, but am not sure if I ever will... and I always seem to enjoy them more if I don't know how they will go, but can't seem to stop myself)

Diary of a Uni student

Yes, that's what I do- my job for the moment if you will..
In fact, right at this very moment, I should be working on an assignment rather than making this blog..
but I wanted to... so I did...

This is my second year and I live on Res at a relatively small country University.
I have my own room, but share a bathroom..

Currently my room is a mess, although most of the mess is confined on my desk.. and some on my bed...
there are bits for the latest assignment... schoolbooks, novels, badges, chocolate, masses of pencils, textas, pens, coloured paper and other crafty stuff (even stamps), some knitting, a couple of drink bottles, some DVDs, and finally a bit more chocolate.

On the other side of the bed (where I am sitting at the moment) is my fridge, which is currently holding my record player, more books, another drink bottle, some paper work and an empty chip packet....

I myself am currently being distracted from writing assignment by a combination of Youtube, Facebook, Blogger, Polyvore and The Proposal...

What distracts you most from those important stuffs that have to be done?
